Charcuterie on the Pier will showcase the White Rock Pier and the seaside community that surrounds it. Featuring a historic attempt to break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® longest charcuterie platter/board, net proceeds will benefit Sources Food Banks, Friends of the Pier and the Semiahmoo Rotary Club.
The Sheila’s Catering Team will build a 500 foot long charcuterie board on the White Rock Pier that will be officially judged by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS representatives and then enjoyed by 1,200 guests.

There are three time slots available to purchase tickets for. Each Tier offers a fresh display of food on the board, ready to indulge along the iconic White Rock Pier.

What does my ticket include?Ticket is fully inclusive of entrance to Charcutie on the Pier at the designated Tier time. You will receive a personal charcuterie board that is yours to keep. VIP and Tier 1 ticket holders will attend during the Guinness Experience, which includes the official judging of the charcuterie board by a Guinness World Record Adjudicator and the announcement of the World Record! All guests will enjoy delicious charcuterie and the live music while sipping their favorite beverage and enjoying the stunning backdrop of White Rock. Following your experience at Charcuterie on the Pier, we invite VIP guests to collect a special gift bag at the Sheila’s Catering Co. tent just to the northwest of the Pier entrance. The Ticket Tiers: VIP Tickets receive all access to Charcuterie on the Pier, and can choose to attend Tier One, Tier Two and Tier Three Tier One 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Tier Two 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm Tier Three Sunset 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Do I get a tax receipt?Charcuterie on the Pier is an event produced by Sheila’s Catering Co., which is not a registered charitable organization and does not issue tax receipts. All net proceeds of Charcuterie on the Pier will benefit Sources Food Banks, Friends of the Pier and the Semiahmoo Rotary Club.

Is the event all ages?Charcuterie on the Pier is an all ages event, however, there will be an adult vibe.

Can I bring my service dog?We welcome legal service dogs. Dogs are not allowed on the White Rock Pier. This is a municipal rule - Questions about Service Dog Accessibility can be sent to dogs@whiterockcity.ca. If you have a bylaw concern please contact bylaw at 604-541-2146.

Where do I park?Park for $7 for the day ($5 after 5:00 pm) at Semiahmoo Park Public Parking Lot Two courtesy shuttles for Charcuterie on the Pier ticket holders will loop between the Semiahmoo Park Public Parking Lot 15782 Marine Dr. from 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm on September 2. Parking: Waterfront Parking : 10 a.m. to midnight $4.50 per hour All west beach parking east of Oxford Street is limited to 4 hours maximum, except parkades. Please observe posted signage at all pay parking areas. Montecito and West Beach Parkades: 10 a.m. to midnight $4.50 per hour or $16.00 per day

Will there be wine and beer at the event?Yes. There will be four bars on the pier carrying a selection of beer, wine, batch cocktails and 0% choices for purchase. All net proceeds from the bar are being donated to Semiahmoo Rotary Club. Sheila's Catering staff are donating all tips collected at the bar back to charity. You can purchase drink tickets ahead of time at Sheila's tent in front of the White Rock Museum, we accept credit, debit and cash payments at the bars.

Is there seating at the event?The 500-foot charcuterie board will be down the centre of the Pier and there will be walking room around it and room for a wheelchair or walker. The event will be cocktail style with hightop tables towards the end of the pier and limited seating. If you require special accommodation, please contact us at info@shielascatering.com

Are there washrooms?Accessible washrooms are located just off the Pier, and guests will have access to leave the event for washroom use. There will be handwashing, sanitizer and wipes available at the event.

What if it rains?In the event of rain Charcuterie on the Pier will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2023 and we will communicate with ticket holders via email.

How will the charcuterie stay fresh?A 500 foot continuous board will be made up of 250 two-foot charcuterie boards that are connected together. Each two-foot board is prepared offsite and wrapped with industrial grade wrap. The boards will be connected together on the White Rock Pier and ice blankets will be used to keep it chilled. During the event, the 500-foot board will be uncovered one third at a time, so that all guests will have access to fresh charcuterie. Sheila’s Catering Co. is working closely with Fraser Health Authority on all aspects ensuring food safety.

What about the birds?A professional falconer has been contracted to patrol the air with three, trained falcons. This method of controlling seagulls in a particular area is used at airports and by municipalities for a variety of applications. Read more here - link to information.

Are you donating leftovers to a local food bank?Sheila's will follow the rules given by the Fraser Health Authority and donate any usable foods back to the food bank. Net proceeds of Charcuterie on the Pier will be donated to Sources Food Banks, Operated by Sources Community Resources. Other local charities that will receive direct financial benefit from the event are Friends of the Pier and the Semiahmoo Rotary Club.
ABOUT
Presented by Sheila’s Catering of South Surrey, Charcuterie on the Pier will showcase an iconic White Rock venue - the White Rock Pier - and the vibrant seaside community that surrounds it. Charcuterie on the Pier is a fundraising event for Sources Community Resources and Friends of the Pier featuring a historic attempt to break the World Record of the Longest Charcuterie Board.
Ticket holders will have access to the Pier for 1.5 hour time slots. Open to the public will be a party in Memorial Park where the public will have an opportunity to meet local organizations, enjoy entertainment and activities, learn about charcuterie and the Guinness World Record, and will share in the excitement of official announcements from the event.
